RENEWABLE ENERGY MARKET IN UKRAINE
The development of the renewable energy market contributes to the energy independence of Ukraine and individual households, increases its own electricity production, reduces dependence on import of fossil fuel sources and the cost of transporting electricity, develops network infrastructure, and significantly reduces CO2 emissions and ensures environmental safety. Therefore, the development of the renewable energy corresponds to the energy strategy of Ukraine.
To stimulate this industry, the government of Ukraine introduced a special “feed-in” tariff, the size of which allows returning investments within a time period acceptable to investors.
The current “feed-in” tariff mechanism is in line with world leading practices in the field of:
- guaranteed by the state until 2030,
- there is a binding of the “feed-in” tariff to the euro, which provides investors with comfort for long-term investments,
- the source of funds for the “feed-in” tariff is all consumers of electricity in the state – due to this there is no burden on the state budget,
- guaranteed purchase and 100% payment of all generated electricity,
- contracts for the sale of electricity are concluded before December 31, 2029 and are additionally confirmed on behalf of the state by the National
- Commission for Regulation in the Sphere of Energy and Utilities.
- fulfillment of obligations under contracts for the sale of electricity is protected by international courts.
Currently, one of the most promising types of renewable energy in Ukraine is solar energy.
VALUES OF “FEED-IN” TARIFFS FOR POWER OBJECTS USING SUN RADIATION ENERGY (SES):
Рік введення в експлуатацію
2017-2019 | 2020-2024 | 2025-2029
Наземні СЕС, євро/кВтг | 0,15 | 0,14 | 0,12 |
Дахові СЕС, євро/кВтг | 0,16 | 0,15 | 0,13 |
Дахові СЕС для приватних домогосподарств, потужністю до 30 кВт, євро/кВтг | 0,18 | 0,16 | 0,14 |
By investing in this industry right now you get a high guaranteed income from an attractive “feed-in” tariff, which will decrease over time.
